I have years of experience teaching and mentoring across a range of creative arts including knitting, painting, drawing and mixed media. So if your interests are in any of these creative arts I am here to help you achieve your creative goals.

My teaching brings together the perspectives of an artist, a maker, and an experienced educator. I focus on creating a supportive, confidence building environment where creativity feels accessible rather than intimidating. By using adaptable teaching methods, I meet students where they are, encouraging exploration, experimentation, and creative risk taking. I place as much value on the creative process as the finished work, helping students build skills while also developing their own creative voice, confidence, and enjoyment of making.

These imply different levels of knowledge and skills in a student and the amount of direction they need to develop and progress. Perhaps you are a total beginner eager to learn fundamental skills and techniques; I can guide you from the very beginning with a clear, structured program of lessons. Or you may already have experience in your creative practice but wish to build greater confidence and expand your range by working alongside an experienced practitioner who can offer constructive feedback, discuss choices and possibilities, and help you refine and hone your techniques and develop confidence and independence.
-
Learning with a teacher is personal, interactive, and focused on you. I watch your technique, spot issues early, and give tailored guidance so you build strong skills and avoid bad habits. If something doesn’t click, I explain and demonstrate it in ways that suit your learning style. With over thirty years experience, I help you understand the why as well as the how, building confidence and independence in your creative practice.

I don’t have online classes available. I prefer to make my teaching hands on and immediate. I do offer online mentoring and tutoring however.
